Chocolate Crinkles

![]() It seems like everyone is making these this year. I've been seeing them all over the internet lately, and each recipe is different. Mine is from my Better Homes & Gardens cookbook, which varies slightly from the version in my mom's older edition of the cookbook. The current version on their website is different still. I first made them over two years ago and they were a huge hit. I brought them in to work and ever since then my manager has been bugging me to make more, which is the main reason I decided to include them in my Christmas baking this year. Makes about 5-1/2 dozen cookies 3 eggs 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar 4 oz unsweetened chocolate, melted 1/2 cup cooking oil 2 tsp baking powder 2 tsp vanilla 2 cups all-purpose flour (I replaced half with white whole wheat flour) sifted powdered sugar In a large mixing bowl beat eggs, granulated sugar, chocolate, oil, baking powder, and vanilla with an electric mixer until combined. Beat in flour. Cover and chill dough for 1-2 hours or until easy to handle. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and roll in powdered sugar to coat generously. Place 1-inch apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake in a 375° oven for 8-10 minutes or until edges are set and tops are crackled. Transfer to a wire rack and let cool. |
